garden
Belcaro welcomes guests at any
time of year. Whether you are looking for a short break or several weeks, or
just want to relax and unwind, or explore the many beautiful sleepy hilltop
villages and medieval towns, Belcaro provides a wonderful atmospheric home in
authentic Tuscan surroundings.

Podere Belcaro is a converted
farmhouse, combining the privacy of the San Fabiano estate, some twenty minutes
south of Siena, with benefit of being close to the town of Monteroni d'Arbia with its
shops and good regional connecting roads. Converted by Count Giuseppe
Fiorentini's artistic daughter to make it into a unique place to stay.
Belcaro is a big, family
orientated farmhouse. Simply but comfortably furnished, Belcaro has a large,
light sitting room with a wonderful, working, wood-burning fireplace. The sitting
room interconnects to the kitchen dining room through a beautiful large
arch.

The bedrooms overlook
undulating farm land to the north towards San Fabiano Castle and Siena,....

....and south towards Monte
Amiata.

The vast lawned garden
includes the swimming pool,....

....the vine loggia and a covered
loggia with a built in bar-b-q.

There is a separate entrance
to the Stalla (stable) that forms a self-contained apartment consisting of
sitting room/kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom. This is available on its own
or can be included with the house.
Belcaro can offer you a home with living areas for privacy, cleverly
created for those who enjoy being with, yet sometimes separate from, good
friends. Equally, Belcaro is ideal for several families staying together
without the restraints of having to curb the energy of enthusiastic children!
History of Art and Culture visits are available to towns such as
Florence or Siena. Belcaro offers great incentive and an ideal base for
painting. Art courses are available and we can help arrange them upon request.
There are also countless smaller, less crowded gems to visit. For those who
come in July (2nd) and August (16th) don't forget the Palio, the historically
famous horse race around the Piazza il Campo in Siena.
Wine: Many good local wines to taste and local wineries to visit. The
Brunello wine, from Montalcino is recommended for consumption in some years
time. The local grappa is delicious.
Restaurants: There are numerous local restaurants in the area that can
be recommended, depending on pocket and taste.
Walks: There are several walks on the estate and surrounding area. If
one half of the couple wishes to paint and the other half to walk, we can
arrange to meet for an alfresco lunch underneath an agreed olive tree.
